Lily knows merfolk are bound to keep their promises. Calder's not buying into it, though. He chalks up the dreams to stress.
Bound To Stay Bound
He wants Lily to focus on the future— their future, not the past. Which forces Lily to send Calder away. Calder goes, feeling rejected and more than a little tempted to revert to his hunting ways. What both of them overlook is the present: Calder's sisters, Maris and Pavati, are fighting for control of the mermaid clan, and now that Lily and her dad have transformed into mer-creatures, both mermaids vie for daughter and father as allies. Which of the two mermaids can be trusted? Will Lily make costly mistakes, forcing her to descend to the depths of Lake Superior?
And if Calder returns, will he be the same merman Lily grew to love? The stakes are high, with many lives at risk, but Calder and Lily must confront the past as well as their darkest impulses if they want a chance at being together. Booklist , December 1, "Essential for series fans. Help Centre.

There is some Bondage, but nothing over the top like some erotic stories; just enough to learn how to trust. Both characters give so much to one another that in the end they find it hard to be separated.
All the characters have been shaped perfectly for this story. I loved Kitten and Caden, how broken they both are and how they find it hard to reveal their true selves. There is a character in the book that had my heart beating so fast and not in a good way.
Bound (Bound Trilogy book one)
He is a very emotional character and his mood can shift so fast and abruptly. There are a few other characters that played small support roles and they gave greater depth to the story as well. Hanna Peach is not a new author to me; I have read her Dark Angel series and loved being in the fantasy world she created there.
But this was something new and so different and I can't explain how much I enjoyed it.

I wasn't at all expecting the direction of the story but the plot gripped me until that final page, leaving me wanting the next book immediately! It becomes quite emotional as Kitten's already broken heart shatters further when the secrets that were supposed to be kept hidden are revealed… Jump onto this book as soon as possible people! I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
Jan 22, Tiffany rated it really liked it. Im not getting Why One star reviews with out a good explanation!! I really liked it!! More than Liked it!! Cannot wait for the next book!! Im seeing stuff on facebook where reviewers are going out of the way to slam a book due to personal issues.. Thats a shame.. Not saying someone might not get it..
Apr 14, Brandee un Conventional Bookworms rated it it was amazing. Holy wow!! This book I was literally biting my lip, hunch-shouldered, with a tightness in my gut the entire way through! And it was OH. It wasn't until I started to write this review that I realized I don't even know the real name of the MC.
Caden I'll get to him in a minute refers to her as Kitten, so that's what I'm going with. Kitten is broken. She can't completely trust anyone. She can't open up and be totally honest with anyone. She lives her life on the fringes, knowing she can' Holy wow!! She lives her life on the fringes, knowing she can't get close to anyone because she'll eventually have to leave them. Meeting Caden changes things. Caden allows her intimacy without sharing her secrets. And he has his fair share of those as well. So we watch as these two broken people try to make each other whole - in the only way they can.
Eventually though, it's not enough for Kitten and her curiosity gets the best of her.
Bound Magic by Sadie Moss - Book Review - Books and Blurbs
The story is told from Kitten's POV and alternates between the past and present. In this way, we are privy not only to her thoughts and feelings in the present, but we see earlier meetings between she and Caden - how their relationship progressed - and we see her past - how she ended up so broken and on the run.
The tension - and there is so much of it - is created through Kitten's anxiety over when she'll see Caden again as well as her actions once she decides she wants to know more about him. Caden is an enigma. He has his rules that must be followed when he and Kitten are together. He won't share any details about his life with her - not basic ones anyway. He does drop hints but that only serves to make him more mysterious.
What I know - he is protective of Kitten - he would lay down his life for her - and I guess that's enough for me.
When Kitten and Caden are together, they are combustible! Oh my! If bondage isn't your thing, don't worry. This is not a BDSM book.
The binding and blindfolding are just a part of Caden's brokenness. But the way Caden make Kitten feel is conveyed so well. I understood Kitten feeling: "This constant dull ache for him crescendos into a crushing fist deep in my belly. Like always, it gets worse when I know exactly when I'll see him next. The conclusions she begins to draw elicit the fear she's tried to bury. And yet she showed so much strength of will. As revelations are made, I became more and more anxious. I tried puzzling it out as it was unfolding and I never saw it coming!
I find it ironic that Caden gave Kitten a name that embodied the curiosity which put her in the situation of having to flee 5 years ago, and in her current predicament. Bound by Lies is dark, twisty, well-written, tense and thrilling.
